My Gratitude List
God; I know I am never
alone even during dark times
Our children; my
inspiration and they continue to make me proud
My husband; my soul mate,
lover, best friend, confidant
My health; while it’s not
the best, it could always be worse
Our home; not a mansion
but it’s filled with love and light
Living near the beach; My
place of serenity
Writing; the ability to
put my thoughts into words
My program; it’s helped me
learn and heal
Having a sense of humor; I am blessed
to see humor when others do not
Being together with my
family; soon this will no longer be possible
****
Happy Thanksgiving to my
American friends! I’ll be cooking and
enjoying time with my family, I hope you’ll be doing the same.

What a great Gratitude List, Elsie. I believe counting our blessings, both inwardly and publicly is important.
ReplyDeleteHaving your list visible gives you an external point of reference and allows me (and others) an opportunity to see that what is really worth being grateful for has little to do with money and everything to do with love, respect, devotion, commitment, loyalty, admiration, honour...
Gratitude for being given another day, each morning upon getting up, is where it starts for me.
Thanks for sharing. :)
Hugs, Jenny
Thank you, Jenny. One of my favorite bloggers has a gratitude list right on his page that he keeps updated with his latest things he's grateful for in his life. I love seeing it each week.
DeleteHaving money is nice and it helps but it doesn't always equate to happiness. It's when times are tough are when I'm grateful for the smaller things, the less material things...your list is where it's at!
You are so great wishing you a super Gobble until you wobble day! Hope your Thanksgiving is a pleasant one :0
ReplyDeleteJanice!! I need a link to your blog!!!

Good list. Have a great Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your list on your blog, Furtheron. It's very inspiring. I keep my gratitude list as a book marker in my steps workbook.
DeleteHaving a sense of humour will certainly help you through life, as will of course a loving family, and a home to share with them.
ReplyDeleteMy sense of humor is key in keeping my going as is my family. I love my home too. It may not be a mansion but it's ours and its filled with love and laughter.
DeleteMuch to be thankful for at your sea and definitly the humor helps you put up with me hahaha happy thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteI have a ton to be thankful for and I appreciate all that I have in my life...I just like to whine and bitch because it pisses off the cat! My sense of humor helps me put up with a lot, especially you!
DeleteWishing pleasant Thankseating day to you and your gang, Elsie :)
ReplyDeleteI had a wonderful Thankgiving - I was stuffed!! =PP

ReplyDeleteI ate like there was no tomorrow. I had to get up from the table and change into my sweat pants - that's the truth!! =P
DeleteI love this Elsie and hope that you and everyone I know from America has a great Thanksgiving. I love your holiday so much!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great holiday for us only because we get a great excuse to eat like pigs and spend the day with our families and watch football!! Who can ask for more?
DeleteHappy thanksgiving Elsie. A great gratitude list you've got here. It's honest :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, D4. I could have added so many more things to it but I decided to limit it to ten...
DeleteHappy thanksgiving dear. I'm going back to sleep now and dream about Bruce Willis.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are doing well my friend. What a great way to recover - dreaming of Bruce Willis. I just watched him in a movie and he is still just as dreamy as ever. I swear he is getting better with age...just like us, Anne, just like us.

You cook like everyday is Thanksgiving, Gloria! Thank you for my special surprise - it was a treat!
DeleteWhen our kids make us cry, they are tears of love too. When our hubby's make us made, they are also tears of love. You are blessed to have your parents. My mom was able to Skype with me from my brother's house. She was amazed at the technology. It was pretty funny.
I'm so thankful for our friendship too, Gloria!! We have so many great friends here!! It's really fantastic, isn't it?
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!! Great list of things to be grateful for. :))
ReplyDeleteThanks, L - Mine was superb! I hope you had a great one too!!
DeleteI hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Elsie.
ReplyDeleteSurrounded by family is exactly what I always want and it's exactly what I got. It was perfect. I hope you were with your family, Barfly and had a great Thanksgiving!
DeleteA wonderful recounting of your blessings, Elsie! Think how many people in the world would love to have even one of these in their life!
ReplyDeleteIt exactly why I try to never take things for granted, Josie. So many people don't have what we have. We never know when our lives will change forever in an instant...
DeleteThank you and many wishes and prayers for you
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you KW. It was good to see you out and about once again!
DeleteWhat a lovely list dear ~ Maybe one day,you can make a gratitude quilt ~ I can identify with love of family, children and home as its where our heart is ~
ReplyDeleteWishing you a happy weekend Elsie ~
Thank you, Heaven. I wish I could quilt but that talent was my mom's and mom's alone...my only gift is in writing.
DeleteEnjoy your weekend too =)
I too was cooking (which is why I am only just now stopping by!). The holiday was wonderful. It really was. But now I am all sad. I hope I'm just tired...and if you come by my place you will see I am doing everything in my power to make myself enjoy this season, but again, I'm not. I'm sorry...I didn't come over here to be a downer. I hope you have a wonderful holiday!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteSounds like you could benefit from a gratitude list, Mels. They really do help me see the brighter side of things. I try to do one every so often to remind myself of the good things in my life especially when times are rough i.e. when the Migraines are escalating, money is tight, I'm getting triggers, etc.
DeleteI'm sorry to hear you are feeling down, Mel. Hugs.
I feel the same. Except for maybe the beach. All that sand....
ReplyDeleteMrs. Penwasser LOVES the beach though (I guess growing up in Va Beach would do that).
I also like that I have a sense of humor. Although the fact that I can see the humor in most everything probably drives the family nuts.
Hee...hee...hee...I said 'nuts.'
I LOVE the beach! I grew up by the beach too, Long Island being an island and all...
DeleteMy sense of humor is so warped, people don't quite understand it sometimes. They think it's inappropriate at times - ah, such is life!
Nuts - he he he
Aw, that was so nice! You made it lyrical, somehow :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. Mine was good, and now I'm gearing up for Christmas! Oh boy.
Thank you, Kianwi!
DeleteOur Thanksgiving was wonderful. We put our tree up already because our son was home from college and won't be back until close til Christmas and we wanted him to be part of the tradition. Then, since that was done, we ended up putting the rest of decorations up. It's the soonest we've ever had the house done!
What's this? A post I missed? I never miss your posts!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a happy Thanksgiving!
It's called having a life, Dan! And, being busy with all your other blogging stuff!
