Audio Post on Emotional Sobriety and a Way Cool Announcement if you missed it
Shortest post ever! I felt compelled to share this with you, my Hooligans. It brought me to tears several times so naturally I want you guys to cry too. No, seriously, this is such a powerful lecture this guy belongs on Ted Talks.
He is speaking about Emotional Sobriety but it isn't just for alcoholics or addicts, it's for anyone who is filled with emptiness, unhappiness, fear, self-doubt, self-hate, and it rocks. Yes, it is an hour long but it is totally worth it.
I hope you enjoy it as much I did and remember to love yourself! You're worth it!

Oh, if you missed my post the other day on my other blog I made a wicked cool announcement.
I'll be here in the morning but this afternoon...not so much, so enjoy your weekend everyone, I know I will and if you have plans, I want to know what they are!! Are you partying? Spending time with the family? Working around the house? What do you have in store?
Wow this may be the shortest post you've ever done. Not that I'm complaining, That sounds like it's a subject so very close to your heart, and would be close to mine given how emotionally unavailable I seem to think I am. I don't really have any plans for the weekend myself, I never really make plans.
ReplyDeleteI know right, Mark! I can't believe how short this post was and yet it covered so much. I wrote it after I listened to the gentleman speak and still feeling all sorts of emotions whirling around inside me. I think you would really take a lot away from it. As we like to say, take what you want and leave the rest.
DeleteNo plans for the weekend? I'm not sure what mine are just yet but I know they will be fun, my son is coming home from college!!

ReplyDelete1: I "rubbed" my wife's car with my truck in my garage. Blue and white don't make a recees cup. 2: Youngest daughter just got driver's license - now it's time to add a driver to my insurance. 3. Said new young driver pointed out the car she shares with her sister has issues that are not just annoying, but dangerous. Total repair bill - $638....
So, maybe next week I'll watch the hour long presentation and enjoy a good cry......err...probably not though. LOL.
I can't wait till your book comes out. Will it have pics??? :)

DeleteThis was such a dude explanation - you didn't "hit" her car, you "rubbed" her car. Such a man. I dread the day my Peanut gets her license and it isn't that far away, just a few years. Gack! So sorry to hear about the repair bills, that is just not fun at all in addition to the paint repair you better be making.
I can't wait for my book either! Oh, wait, I have to write it first. Sure, it'll have pictures - of the beach, flowers, but not of me. ha ha ha

DeleteJust spending time with my man who got home last night and leaves on Sunday morning. Probably do some more crafts for my show in 2 weeks. We woke up to snow today. :(

DeleteI'm going to check this out Elsie but probably not until later on when I get the chance to really focus on it. I'm not sure if it's going to make me cry, I've read some literature like that before and even attended a GOALS course as you know and I'm a hard nut to crack, I could do with this being really good and powerful though, I'm bookmarking it to listen to it later.

Not because he tells any type of sad stories because he doesn't but because if you identify with any parts of it, it will hit home and hit your heart. I remember your GOALS course and I don't know if it's anything like that because it's done with a lot of humor (and a bit of cursing lol)

DeleteThe rant was changed up a bit after clarification from the IRS. It was the preparers fault and now I'm really ticked off! You'll see it at Dan's shore soon.
Ha ha ha! You do the same as my dad used to do. I don't envy you one bit! I hung out at the beach while you were stuck inside crunching numbers!
hmph to that, I hope the canadians triple on your beach this year and there is no room or food hahaha hey it is a form of loving ones self.

DeleteMy weekend was spent blizzarded in, going stir crazy, wishing for sunlight and bike rides and walking the dogs. So by default your weekend already had to have been better than mine.
ReplyDeleteThat sucks ass! What sucks ass even more is when I tell you we went to the beach. Sure, we may have been in jackets and jeans but man, it sure was nice to be in the sun and on the sand with the dogs!! So, um yeah, my weekend was way better...sorry for your snow!
